Kyowa Hakko Kirin has established Tokyo Research Park (Machida, Tokyo) and Fuji Research Park (Nagaizumi, Sunto-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture) as research and development centers for new drugs.

Research Parks aim to create world-leading, innovative medicines with speed. Our initiatives on research and development are based on establishment of drug discovery technology, the search for potential drugs, research and development on clinical studies, to improvements on post-marketing products. In other words, we look for a “seed” of the drug, grow the “buds” and continue to take care after the blooming of a “flower.”

All for the aspiration to “deliver quality medicines for our patients.”

no.9 | no.9 no.9 | no.9

“no.9” is a solo project of composer Takayuki Joe, who composes deep and melodious songs that blend in comfortably with our everyday lives, aiming to “co-exist with sounds.”

Takayuki started producing sounds and composing music in the early 90’s, and began to create works that blend together electronic and acoustic sounds under the name “no.9” in 1997. He has released seven albums to date, including usual revolution and nine and Good morning, and his latest release, The History of the Day continues to generate much attention.

Receiving much praise as music with organic human spirit, he has worked on many sound designs such as those in advertising (TV commercials, websites, video works), check-in terminals of major public transports such as big airline companies, and office equipment as demand for his work continued to grow with the progress of technology. He is a composer that can create elaborate sound designs, combining his past achievements and experiences with his wide-range musicianship.

Takayuki has participated in many compilation albums including the famous work supervised by Toru Hashimoto: MELLOW BEATS, FRIENDS & LOVERS, and Love SQ, which is a remix album of Square Enix, and a tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto: –Ryuichi Sakamoto Tribute–

At the same time, he has worked as leader to the band, “no.9 orchestra,” combining the works of no.9 with the more “physical” sounds of guitar, drum, violin, and piano, and has given grand performances that can remind one of a full orchestra. The band has performed solo concerts at Daikanyama UNIT, 21st Century Museum of Modern Art, Kanazawa, and other venues such as Ebisu Liquid Room, Shibuya DUO Music Exchange, O-nest, Club Asia and Moon Romantic, continuing to enchant the audience with their enveloping sounds. They released their first album in 2014: Breath in Silence.
