The intricate mechanism of the human body made from a total of 60 trillion cells is so full of mystery, it could be compared to the “universe.”

The strength of Kyowa Hakko Kirin, “Therapeutic Antibody,” is using antibodies as medication for disease treatment by applying antibodies, which takes the lead role in the complex immune system of the human body.

Ordinarily, one antibody recognizes only one target. Therapeutic Antibodies use this characteristic to treat diseases with fewer side effects, with hopes for higher therapeutic effect due to its ability to pin point targets such as cancer cells. Expectation rises towards new treatments using therapeutic antibodies especially for diseases that are difficult to treat such as cancer and autoimmune diseases.
Kyowa Hakko Kirin have established its own “antibody technology” such as POTELLIGENT® and COMPLEGENT® and by using these techniques, we create more effective therapeutic antibodies.
In addition, we created the online cartoon “The Story of Basic Immunology,” in efforts to better the understanding of the immune system and antibodies by everyone.
