Kyowa Hakko Kirin Group Policy for the Interaction with Patients and Patient Organizations

We at the Kyowa Hakko Kirin Group have established the “Kyowa Hakko Kirin Group Policy for the Interaction with Patients and Patient Organizations” to fulfill our management philosophy. In collaboration with patients and patient organizations, we strive to respect the independence of patient organizations, establish mutual understanding and trust, as well as maintaining high ethical standards and transparency.

We at the Kyowa Hakko Kirin Group (hereafter referred to as “Our Group”) seek to fulfill our management philosophy, “Our Group strives to contribute to the health and well-being of people around the world by creating new value through the pursuit of advances in life sciences and technologies”.
We believe that all interactions with our stakeholders are indispensable to accurately understanding and solving medical and health problems. Especially in the pharmaceutical business, it is expected to create value that supports the needs and interests of the patients. We hope to foster interactions with patients and patient organizations, with the aim of seeking drug discovery and proper use of drugs for unmet medical needs.
We will always be ethical and professional in interactions with patients and patient organizations.
To do so, we establish the following principles for interaction with patients and patient organizations and will act on that basis.

  1. The directors and employees of Our Group will act based on high ethical standards complying with "Kyowa Hakko Kirin Group Compliance Policy" in order to promote appropriate interactions with patients and patient organizations.
  2. We will respect the independence of patient organizations and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and industry rules. We will not apply inappropriate methods or conditions.
  3. We will strive to build sincere mutual understanding and trusting relationships in order to collaborate in an effective and respectful manner.
  4. When we provide funds and resources, we will ensure transparency through disclosure of information based on transparency laws, guidelines and industry codes.
